Ho-hum. New year? What new year?

Alex @ January 1, 2008 | | Personal |

Holy shit. It’s 2008 already and I feel like it’s still 2006. 2007 was much of a blur (a motherf*cking crazy one) for me. A lot of things happened and besides from getting to spend time with my fiancee and friends, everything else was crap. So here’s to a crappy year. Hehe.

I have a lot of things to do just before school starts again (I have a short paper for my Anthro class with which I haven’t really bothered myself) but oblige me as I maximize the couple of days still left of my vacation.

And perhaps another first on this blog - a survey! Yes, a survey! Let me do a 2007-in-review thing.

1. What did you do in 2007 that you’ve never done before?

Teach.

2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I didn’t make any new year’s resolution. I have one for this year, though. I’ll be so much richer this year.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

Yes. Greysh gave birth to a cute li’l baby boy.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

Close as in relative? Yeah, my mother kicked the bucket.

5. What countries did you visit?

Philippines.

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?

More money and my own business.

7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

None in particular.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Have a fatter bank account than what I started with after graduation.

9. What was your biggest failure?

I never fail.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Yes. Had bouts of the flu and colds throughout the year. I still suffer from ADHD and OCD.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

Gifts for my dearest.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

No one behaves in ways that should merit celebration. I hate people. Haha.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

Everyone else’s.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Hospital bills, funeral expenses and a useless car.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

My birthday party.

16. What song will always remind you of 2007?

The End of the World by The Cure (not really 2007, still the most often listened song for me)

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

i. happier or sadder? Sadder
ii. thinner or fatter? Fatter
iii. richer or poorer? Richer

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?

Save.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?

Spend.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

Woops. Way past Christmas already. Just slept.

22. Did you fall in love in 2007?

Always in love with one particular person.

23. How many one-night stands?

Zero. Hehehe.

24. What was your favorite TV program?

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?

I always hate people. Maybe I just hate them more.

Haven’t read a new book for the year except for anthologies and text books.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Revisited The Who.

28. What did you want and got?

A car. Though it turned out to be a really crappy one. And I’d like to ram it through the house of the person I bought it from.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?

300.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

Did nothing special on the exact day but I had a birthday dinner with friends on the weekend. Turned f*ckin older at 24.

Getting one million euros tax free.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?

Crap.

34. What kept you sane?

Lego.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Hugh Laurie.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

Peninsula barricade issue. Found out how incompetent Philippine law enforcement is. Do you really have to ram the beautiful entrance?

37. Who did you miss?

No one in particular.

38. Who was the best new person you met?

None.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007:

Make your money work for you. Hot damn, it works!

“Some dreams were meant to be declined
Tell the man what did you have in mind
What have you come to do”
