Missed iBlog4 for this

UP Diliman and its various colleges held recognition rites and the commencement exercise over the weekend. I really wanted to go to iBlog4 but, alas, I was issued a memo by the college that I’d be one of the emcees for CAL’s recognition rites.
As a spin made by the organizers, they got every department’s most junior and senior faculty members to introduce the graduates. Unfortunately for me, I am the most junior. Representing the senior faculty for our department was Dr. Adel Lucero (who happens to be Ia’s mom.)
I got dressed up (in barong and sablay) to speak only a few lines. I got baked in the afternoon sun, and had to sit through a valedictory address that wasn’t really as moving as a valediction should. (Come on. If “I dared to dream” isn’t cliche then tell me what is.)
The things I do for the college.
At least Tony Gloria (the guest of honor) had some very sensible words to share with everyone.
Photo credit to Delurianne (who happens to be one of the college summa cum laude grads this year) and interestingly, my seatmate in the ceremony

Actually my mom has a blog, which is on Stellify too, but she keeps forgetting about it.
There was a livestream of iBlog on the net so I got to watch part of it even if I wasn’t there:
