Gunnery Sergeant Hartman… Of all the military guys on film, he’s got to be my favorite. Forget John Rambo. Forget Private Ryan.
To those unfamiliar with the character, he’s from Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket, a movie about the Vietnam war most famous probably because of Sgt. Hartman and the immortal lines “Me so horny. Me love you long time” by a Vietnamese prostitute character. Hartman’s a drill sergeant on Parris Island the US Marine Corps Recruit Depot. Plainly speaking he kicks ass.
Anyway, here’s the best part of that movie. This should probably be reported as a violation on YouTube, but what the heck. There’s no better way to describe and understand him other than seeing him in action. Clip after the cut.

Author’s Note: Spoilers after the cut
Last week, I found semblance of life outside my hermit’s cave, went out with the (future) missus and watched Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World’s End. Now, with still a few choices of what to watch with Shrek 3 and Spider-man 3 (yeah, very late), we decided on Pirates since we also watched the last installment together (especially since it had a cliffhanger ending). To our benefit, we found it quite entertaining to give Pirates a thumbs up.

With all the gossip blogs online, you’re bound to get some indecent piece of rumor. The latest one to warn me of the Apocalypse is this - Olsen as Bond Girls. If you’ve first heard the rumor, you’d probably be going “Aaaaaaaargh!” Hehehe. I did.
I’m a big Bond fan. I grew up watching those Bond movies from Sean Connery, to George Lazenby, to Roger Moore, to Timothy Dalton, to Pierce Brosnan, and, finally to Daniel Craig. So practically each and every one of them official Bond movies (plus Never Say Never and except the spoof ones).

Okay, so far, I haven’t really told anyone (save for my girl and my sis) that I’m a My Name is Earl Fan. By far I have to say that it’s probably my all-time favorite TV show. And they’ve just recently aired Season 2’s season finale. And by God, I can’t wait for Season 3.
For those not acquainted with this show, here’s the quick premise. It’s about a guy named Earl who, after winning the scratch lottery ticket gets hit by a car and loses the ticket. Afterwards, Earl gets the thought that perhaps. He then makes a list of the things he’s done wrong and tries to make it up to people involved. Mysteriously the winning ticket ends up again in his hand and he’s been trying to take things off the list since then.
No spoilers here. But the title summarizes my take on it. In the season finale, Earl is forced to make a decision that would make him lose some of the things he has done for himself. Why, Earl? Why did you do it?
A real momentary suspension of disbelief. And I just can’t wait for the next season!

Am no Harry Potter fan. But since this guy just showed his gonads on stage and he’ll still be Harry Potter, you’ll wonder where he uses his wand and broomstick when no one’s looking. Anyway, here’s the newly released Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix poster.
