A friend who works in HR shared to me how she encountered one personal evaluation sheet indicated that the employee feels that the organization has not provided him enough work hours to learn work skills.

And the employee consistently regarded himself as “consistently exceeding” the criteria set forth by the evaluation sheet. And that was already after five months as a full-time employee.

Shame.

I find such comments ridiculous. Annoying even. These just go to show that the idea of building oneself to be a professional is one that kids these days just don’t fully grasp.

While the organization can (and should) provide training, it is still the professional’s responsibility to improve oneself. Even in The Sims, player characters are required to build skills and read books in order to improve chances for career advancement.

And they expect things to “just happen” in real life?
